Project Overview

This education project covered topics identified by Idaho producers preparing to grow hemp in 2022. No hemp has previously been grown in the state. Idaho producers received coordinated knowledge sharing of production, marketing, and legal risk management. The project accomplished this coordination through a series of events for hemp growers to engage in peer-to-peer learning, as well as benefit from presentations from experts on topics like licensing, testing, and market fundamentals. The target audience for these events were Idaho growers interested in hemp production for grain, fiber and cannabidiol (CBD) oil. Four strategically timed events were hosted over the 18 month grant period and a report on mid and long term risk management was published with findings.
